I want to write a post in support of the marriage equality law just passed in America, but I can’t really think of anything to say, because it just seems so obvious: everybody is equal. In Buddhism, not a lot is said about racism and sexism and homophobia etc: it’s a non-issue, because equality is such a basic principal. People are just people.
I forget how revolutionary that is. In Buddha’s time, he overturned the caste system and caused social upheaval by accepting everyone without discrimination. After thousands of years, I rejoice that we are finally beginning to catch up.
